Ten months down, two months to go.  Although the market has been rocky, my portfolio continues to grow.  I committed to add a significant amount of money toward my retirement this year and my efforts are paying off.  I am looking at surpassing $3,000 in dividends received this year and looking forward, the investments I have made to date will earn me more than $6,000 in dividends in 2016.  This month I purchased $9,752 in shares of 3 companies. I also sold $4,381 in shares of 1 company.

Investment Hunting Net Worth Update

In the month of October, I made the following Investment Hunting portfolio updates:

Purchased

  • International Business Machines – 25 shares, totaling $3,525
  • Kinder Morgan International – 50 shares, $1,372
  • Gilead Sciences -50 shares, totaling $4,855

Sold

I sold shares in 10 companies in August and September totaling $25,823.48. I took advantage of a temporary upside in the market to lock in gains on these stocks. There are a lot of deals now and I needed cash to execute my new buys. I like all the stocks I sold and will likely add them back as time and the market permits.

  • Gilead Sciences -40 shares, totaling $4,381.05

I bought and sold Gilead Sciences this month.  I decided to offload some of my shares after the stock value spiked near the end of the month.
