As the name implies, a 125 Percent Loan is a loan where the LTV ratio is 125%. For example if a home buyer purchases a home valued at $1M dollars, a 125% loan balance would be $1.25M. This type of loan is no longer typical. Prior to 2008, this loan type was offered extensively in the U.S. We all know how that ended :-).
