Good Reads – Thanksgiving edition. As we enter this long holiday weekend I thought I would mix in some Thanksgiving specific posts along with some of my favorite articles from the past two weeks. I have read a ton of fantastic posts lately. It’s my privilege to share these good reads with all of you. My hope is that you discover a new blogger to follow.  Travel safe this holiday and I’ll see you all next week with my favorite post; monthly dividend updates.

Blog posts that caught my eye the past week.

Erin at Young Adult Money wrote a fantastic post 8 Things to do on Black Friday Instead of Shop.

Chad at Coach Carson wrote a great article, How to Retire Rich With Embarrassing Old Cars and Ugly Houses.

DivHut wrote an article about Socially Responsible Investing: 3 Funds that are Beating the Market. This is a controversial topic in the investing world.  Whenever I write about my PM or MO holdings, a few investors chastise me for my investing style. I do not smoke, but I have no problem investing in tobacco, but some investors do.

Roadmap 2 Retire wrote a great article highlighting the railroad industry, Sector Challenges: Railroad Industry. This is a very comprehensive review. Thanks R2R for the detailed analysis.

Retire By 40 put together a great retirement planning post, 9 Ways To Improve Your Retirement Readiness.

Courtney at Think, Save, Retire wrote a nice article, The meaning of being grateful when we already have so much.  I discovered this blog a few weeks ago and it is becoming one of my favorites. This blog has some fantastic stories.

Brian at Red To Riches wrote a funny post about the Dividend Mantra blog. In Memory of Dividend Mantra – How to kill a blog in 10 weeks, is a funny article discussing the failures of the team running this blog. It’s truly sad what has happened to this site. Hopefully the new team brings Jason back to save the day or Jason starts a new blog.  Once thing is certain, the new team is in over their heads and not handling the transition well.  Continually deleting visitor comments is a bad way to run a site.

I hope you enjoy this series of good reads. If you posted something you want to share please submit it in the comments section.
