Basic Earnings Per Share – EPS
Basic Earnings Per Share is one of two types of Earnings Per Share, or EPS. The other is Diluted Earnings Per Share. Basic EPS is calculated by dividing net income by common shares outstanding. Note, this will lead to a higher EPS than using diluted number of shares.
